Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK CASSETTE TAPE PLAYER 
    1. Is cassette tape player operating normally?
    • OK: REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 
    • NG: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  2. INSPECT FUSE (ACC, AMP) 
    1. Remove the ACC fuse from the cowl side junction block LH.
    2. Remove the AMP fuse from the engine room junction block.
    3. Measure the resistance of the fuse.

      Standard resistance: Below 1 Ω 

    • NG: REPLACE FUSE 
    • OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    • NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    • OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - SPEAKER) 
    • NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    • OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  5. REPLACE SPEAKER 
    1. Temporarily install another speaker. Functions OK?
    • OK: SPEAKER FAULTY 
    • NG: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  6. CHECK NOISE 
    1. Is hiss noise from speaker?

      OK: Hiss noise is not from speaker. 

    • OK: REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY (RECHECK SYSTEM AFTER REPLACEMENT) 
    • NG: REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (RECHECK SYSTEM AFTER REPLACEMENT)
