Front Power Seat Lumbar Switch: Inspection

  1. INSPECT LUMBAR SUPPORT SWITCH LH 
    1. Check the lumbar support switch.
      1. Check the continuity between the terminals when each switch is operated.

        OK 

        LUMBAR SUPPORT SWITCH LH

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        1 (LF) - 4 (B2) HOLD Continuity
        2 (LR) - 3 (E2) HOLD Continuity
        1 (LF) - 3 (E2) OFF Continuity
        2 (LR) - 3 (E2) OFF Continuity
        1 (LF) - 3 (E2) RELEASE Continuity
        2 (LR) - 4 (B2) RELEASE Continuity

        If the continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

    2. Check the lumbar support switch circuit.
      1. Disconnect the switch connector and connect the seat wire harness to the floor wire harness.
      2. Check the connector on the wire harness side.

        OK 

        LUMBAR SUPPORT SWITCH CIRCUIT LH

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        3 (E2) - Body ground Always Continuity
        4 (B2) - Body ground Always Battery positive voltage

        If the circuit is not as specified, inspect the circuits connected to other parts.

  2. INSPECT LUMBAR SUPPORT SWITCH RH 
    1. Check the lumbar support switch.
      1. Check the continuity between the terminals when each switch is operated.

        OK: 

        LUMBAR SUPPORT SWITCH RH

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        1 (B2) - 4 (LF) HOLD Continuity
        2 (E2) - 3 (LR) HOLD Continuity
        2 (E2) - 3 (LR) OFF Continuity
        2 (E2) - 4 (LF) OFF Continuity
        1 (B2) - 3 (LR) RELEASE Continuity
        2 (E2) - 4 (LF) RELEASE Continuity

        If the continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

    2. Check the lumbar support switch circuit.
      1. Disconnect the switch connector and connect the seat wire harness to the floor wire harness.
      2. Check the connector on the wire harness side.

        Standard 

        LUMBAR SUPPORT SWITCH CIRCUIT RH

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        2 (E2) - Body ground Always Continuity
        1 (B2) - Body ground Always Battery positive voltage

        If the circuit is not as specified, inspect the circuits connected to other parts.
