Inspection Procedure

DELETE DTC AND INSERT ALL PRESENTLY AVAILABLE KEYS TO CHECK WHETHER ENGINE STARTS OR NOT

Delete the DTC (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).

Insert all the presently available keys to check whether the engine starts or not.

Result:

ALL PRESENTLY AVAILABLE KEYS

Result	Proceed to
All keys do not start engine (B2797 is stored in memory)	A
All keys start engine	B
Specific key does not start engine (B2797 is stored in memory)	C

B: NO PROBLEM
C: REPLACE SPECIFIC KEY
A: GO TO NEXT STEP

CHECK TRANSPONDER KEY AMPLIFIER

Using an oscilloscope or the intelligent tester, check for noise in the waveform between the terminals of the T10 amplifier connector and T19 ECU connector.

OK: No noise is present (see Fig 1 ).

NG: FIND CAUSE OF NOISE AND REMOVE IT
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP

CHECK WIRE HARNESS (TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY - TRANSPONDER KEY AMPLIFIER)

Disconnect the T19 ECU connector.
Disconnect the T10 amplifier connector.

Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP

CHECK OPERATION OF TRANSPONDER KEY AMPLIFIER
1. After replacing the transponder key amplifier with a normally functioning transponder key amplifier, check that the engine starts.
  OK: Engine starts.
- NG: REPLACE TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY
- OK: END (TRANSPONDER KEY AMPLIFIER IS DEFECTIVE)
