Inspection Procedure

HINT:

When using the intelligent tester, start from 2. When not using the intelligent tester, start from 3.

CHECK OPERATION OF OPEN DOOR WARNING LIGHT
1. Check that open door warning light comes on when each door is opened and goes off when all doors are closed (see ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION ).
NG: CHECK OR REPAIR OPEN DOOR WARNING LIGHT CIRCUIT

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER (DOOR COURTESY SWITCH)
1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push the intelligent tester main switch ON.
3. Select the DATA LIST mode on the intelligent tester.
4. Check the door courtesy switch condition displayed on the intelligent tester when all doors are closed and each door is opened.
  OK:
  
  When each door is opened: ON is displayed for door courtesy switch condition.
  
  When all doors are closed: OFF is displayed for door courtesy switch condition.
NG: Go to step 4

OK: REPLACE SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU

CHECK SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU

Remove the suspension control ECU with connectors still connected
Turn the ignition switch ON.

Measure the voltage between terminal DOOR of the suspension control ECU connector and body ground when all doors are closed and each door is opened.

Standard voltage

TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

S20-15 (DOOR) - Body ground	All doors closed	9 to 14 V
S20-15 (DOOR) - Body ground	Each door opened	Below 1.5 V

NG: REPLACE SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP

CHECK WIRE HARNESS (INSTRUMENT ECU - SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU)
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK: REPLACE SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU
