Inspection Procedure

HINT:

When using the intelligent tester, start from  1. When not using the intelligent tester, start from  2.

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER (AHC MOTOR RELAY) 
    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push the intelligent tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on the intelligent tester.
    4. Check that the operation sound of the AHC motor relay when operating it with the intelligent tester.

      OK: 

      The operation sound of the AHC motor relay should be heard. 

    NG: Go to step   3 

    OK: REPLACE SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU 

  2. CHECK SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU 
    1. Using SST, connect terminals 12 (TS) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.

      SST 09843-18040 

    2. Push the DOWN button of the height select switch 5 times or more within 5 seconds after starting the engine.

      HINT:

      At this time the height control OFF indicator light flashes at 0.25 second intervals.

    3. Change the damping mode select switch to the SPORT 2 position.
    4. Push the UP button of the height select switch, then check the operation sound of the AHC motor relay.

      OK: 

      The operation sound of the AHC motor relay should be heard. 

    OK: REPLACE SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU 

    NG: GO TO NEXT STEP

  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ENGINE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK (AHC MOTOR RELAY) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Remove the AHC motor relay from the engine room junction block.
    2. Measure the voltage between terminal 1 of the engine room junction block (for AHC motor relay) and body ground.

      Standard voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      1 - Body ground 10 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  4. INSPECT AHC MOTOR RELAY (Marking: AHC Relay) 
    1. Remove the AHC motor relay from the engine room junction block.
    2. Measure the resistance of the relay.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      3 - 4 Reference value 62 Ω
      1 - 2 10 kΩ or higher
    3. Apply battery positive voltage between terminals 3 and 4.
    4. Measure the resistance of the relay.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE AHC MOTOR RELAY

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU - AHC MOTOR RELAY AND AHC PUMP AND MOTOR) 

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU
