Side Airbag Sensor: Installation

CAUTION: Be sure to read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing (see PRECAUTION ).

INSTALL SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR
1. Install the sensor with the 2 bolts.
  Torque: 20 N*m (205 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)
  NOTE:
  - If the airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace it with a new one.
  - When installing the airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts

2. Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the sensor.
3. Connect the connector.
INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY
INSTALL CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LOWER
INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY
INSTALL REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP
INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP
INSTALL SEAT BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER
INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE
INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE
CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
PERFORM INITIALIZATION
1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
  NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
1. Check the SRS warning light (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM ).
