Inspection Procedure

CHECK INDICATOR LIGHT
1. Disconnect the combination meter connector.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
3. Check operation of RSCA off indicator light.
  OK: The indicator light does not light up.
NG: CHECK COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
CHECK WIRE HARNESS (CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY)
1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
2. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds.
3. Disconnect the center airbag sensor connector.
4. Measure the resistance between the body ground and terminal RMSW of the C26 connector on the center airbag sensor side between the combination meter and center airbag sensor.
  Standard resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
1. Connect the center airbag sensor connector.
2. Connect the combination meter connector.
3. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.
4. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
5. Clear the DTC stored in memory (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
6. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
7. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
8. Check the DTC (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
  OK: DTC B2628/29 is not output.

  Codes other than code B1628/29 may be output at this time, but they are not relevant to this check.

NG: REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
CHECK VOLTAGE OF COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
1. Disconnect the combination meter connector.
2. Measure the voltage of the combination meter.
  Standard voltage: 10 to 14 V
NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
CHECK WIRE HARNESS (CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY)
1. Measure the voltage between the body ground and terminal RMSW of the C13 connector on the combination meter side between the center airbag sensor and the combination meter.
  Standard voltage: Below 1 V
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
CHECK WIRE HARNESS (CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)
1. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds.
2. Connect the combination meter connector.
3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 90 seconds.
4. Disconnect the center airbag sensor connector.
5. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.
6. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
7. Measure the voltage between the body ground and terminal IG2 of the C26 connector on the center airbag sensor side.
  Standard voltage: 10 to 14 V

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
1. Connect the center airbag sensor connector.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
3. Clear the DTC stored in memory (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
5. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
6. Check the DTC (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
  OK: DTC B1628/29 is not output.
