Inspection Procedure

CHECK DASH WIRE
1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
2. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable form the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
3. Disconnect the connectors from the center airbag sensor and the front passenger airbag.
4. Release the airbag activation prevention mechanism built in the connector of the dash wire on the center airbag sensor side (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM ).
5. Measure the resistance between P2+ and P2- of the A27 dash wire connector on the front passenger airbag (front passenger side squib (2nd step)) side.
  Standard resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE DASH WIRE

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
1. Connect the connector to the center airbag sensor.
2. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.
3. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
4. Clear the DTC stored in memory (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
6. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
7. Check the DTC (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
  OK: DTC B1185/57 is not output.

  Codes other than code B1185/57 may be output at this time, but they are not relevant to this check.

NG: REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
CHECK FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SQUIB (2ND STEP)
1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
2. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds.
3. Connect the front passenger airbag (front passenger side squib (2nd step)) connector.
4. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.
5. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
6. Clear the DTC stored in memory (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
7. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
8. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
9. Check the DTC (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
  OK: DTC B1185/57 is not output.

NG: REPLACE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SQUIB (2ND STEP))

OK: USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK
