Inspection Procedure

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
2. Clear the DTC stored in memory (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).
3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
4. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
5. Check the DTC (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).

   OK: DTC B1140/32 is output. 

   HINT:

   Codes other than code B1140/32 may be output at this time, but they are not relevant to this check.

NG: USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK 

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
2. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
3. Check that the connectors are properly connected to the center airbag sensor and the side airbag sensor RH.

   OK: The connectors are connected. 

NG: CONNECT CONNECTOR 

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

1. Disconnect the connectors from the center airbag sensor and the side airbag sensor RH.
2. Using a service wire, connect SSR+ and SSR- of the S12 No. 2 floor wire connector on the side and curtain shield airbag sensor RH side.
3. Measure the resistance between SSR+ and SSR- of the C27 No. 2 floor wire connector on the center airbag sensor side.

   Standard resistance: Below 1 Ω

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE 

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

1. Using a service wire, connect VUPR and ESR of the S12 No. 2 floor wire connector on the side and curtain shield airbag sensor RH side.
2. Measure the resistance between VUPR and ESR of the C27 No. 2 floor wire connector on the center airbag sensor side.

   Standard resistance: Below 1 Ω

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE 

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

1. Measure the resistance between the body ground and each of VUPR, SSR+ and SSR- of the C27 No. 2 floor wire connector on the airbag sensor assembly side.

   Standard resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE 

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

1. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
3. Measure the voltage between the body ground and each of VUPR, SSR+, SSR- and ESR of the C27 No. 2 floor wire connector on the center airbag sensor side.

   Standard voltage: Below 1 V

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE 

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
2. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds.
3. Connect the connector to the center airbag sensor.
4. Change the side and curtain shield airbag sensor LH position with RH position.
5. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.
6. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
7. Clear the DTC stored in memory (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).
8. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
9. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
10. Check the DTC (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).

    OK: DTC B1140/32 and B1141/33 are not output. 

    HINT:

    Codes other than code B1140/32 or B1141/33 may be output at this time, but they are not relevant to this check.

NG: REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY (DTC B1140/32 IS OUTPUT) 

NG: REPLACE SIDE AND CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY LH (DTC B1141/33 IS OUTPUT)
