Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Toyota Land Cruiser. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (TO GROUND) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance 

      WIRE HARNESS (TO GROUND)

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      C25-19 (LBE+)*1 - Body ground 1 MΩ or higher
      C25-2 (LBE-)*1 - Body ground 1 MΩ or higher
      C25-11 (LBE+)*2 - Body ground 1 MΩ or higher
      C25-7 (LBE-)*2 - Body ground 1 MΩ or higher

      HINT:

      *1: w/Side airbag *2: w/o Side airbag

    NG: Go to step   6 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (TO +B) 
    1. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    3. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard voltage 

      WIRE HARNESS (TO +B)

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      C25-19 (LBE+)*1 - Body ground Below 1 V
      C25-2 (LBE-)*1 - Body ground Below 1 V
      C25-11 (LBE+)*2 - Body ground Below 1 V
      C25-7 (LBE-)*2 - Body ground Below 1 V

      HINT:

      *1: w/Side airbag *2: w/o Side airbag

    NG: Go to step   7 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  3. CHECK FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Connect the connector of the front seat inner belt LH (seat belt buckle switch LH).
    2. Unfasten the seat belt for the driver's seat.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance 

      FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      C25-19 (LBE+)*1 - C25-2 (LBE-)*1 1 kΩ to 1.6 kΩ
      C25-11 (LBE+)*2 - C25-7 (LBE-)*2 1 kΩ to 1.6 kΩ

      HINT:

      *1: w/Side airbag *2: w/o Side airbag

    NG: REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  4. CHECK FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Fasten the seat belt for the driver's seat.
    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance 

      FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      C25-19 (LBE+)*1 - C25-2 (LBE-)*1 100 Ω to 500 Ω
      C25-11 (LBE+)*2 - C25-7 (LBE-)*2 100 Ω to 500 Ω

      HINT:

      *1: w/Side airbag *2: w/o Side airbag

    NG: REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  5. CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
    3. Connect the connector to the center airbag sensor.
    4. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
    5. Turn the ignition switch ON, and wait for at least 10 seconds.
    6. Clear the DTC stored in memory (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).
    7. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and wait for at least 10 seconds.
    8. Turn the ignition switch ON, and wait for at least 10 seconds.
    9. Check the DTC (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).

      OK: DTC B0126/B0127/27 is not output.

    NG: REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY 

    OK: USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK 

  6. CHECK FRONT SEAT WIRE LH (TO GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the front seat wire LH connector from the No. 1 floor wire.
    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance 

      FRONT SEAT WIRE LH (TO GROUND)

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      BM4-3 (LBE+)*1 - Body ground 1 MΩ or higher
      BM4-6 (LBE-)*1 - Body ground 1 MΩ or higher
      BM4-3 (LBE+)*2 - Body ground 1 MΩ or higher
      BM4-6 (LBE-)*2 - Body ground 1 MΩ or higher

      HINT:

      *1: w/Side airbag *2: w/o Side airbag

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE FRONT SEAT WIRE LH 

    OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE NO. 1 FLOOR WIRE 

  7. CHECK FRONT SEAT WIRE LH (TO +B) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
    3. Disconnect the front seat wire LH connector from the No. 1 floor wire.
    4. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
    5. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    6. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard voltage 

      FRONT SEAT WIRE LH (TO +B)

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      BM4-3 (LBE+)*1 - Body ground Below 1 V
      BM4-6 (LBE-)*1 - Body ground Below 1 V
      BM4-3 (LBE+)*2 - Body ground Below 1 V
      BM4-6 (LBE-)*2 - Body ground Below 1 V

      HINT:

      *1: w/Side airbag *2: w/o Side airbag

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE FRONT SEAT WIRE LH 

    OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE NO. 1 FLOOR WIRE
