Inspection Procedure

CHECK DRIVER SIDE SQUIB CIRCUIT
1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
2. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
3. Disconnect the connectors from the center airbag sensor and the steering wheel pad.
4. Measure the resistance between the body ground and D+ of the orange connector on the steering wheel pad (driver side squib) side between the center airbag sensor and the steering wheel pad (driver side squib) side.
  Standard resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

NG: Go to step 4

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
1. Connect the C26 connector to the center airbag sensor.
2. Using a service wire, connect D+ and D-of the orange connector on the steering wheel pad (driver side squib) side between the center airbag sensor and the steering wheel pad (driver side squib).
3. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.
4. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
5. Clear the DTC stored in memory (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
6. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
7. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
8. Check DTC (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
  OK: DTC B0102/11 is not output.

  Codes other than code B0102/11 may be output at this time, but they are not relevant to this check.

NG: REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
CHECK DRIVER SIDE SQUIB
1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
2. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds.
3. Connect the steering wheel pad (driver side squib) to the spiral cable.
4. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.
5. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
6. Clear the DTC stored in memory (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
7. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
8. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
9. Check the DTC (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
  OK: DTC B0102/11 is not output.

NG: REPLACE STEERING WHEEL PAD (DRIVER SIDE SQUIB)

OK: USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK
CHECK SPIRAL CABLE
1. Disconnect the spiral cable connector from the column wire.
2. Measure the resistance between the body ground and D+ of the orange spiral cable connector on the steering wheel pad (driver side squib) side.
  Standard resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

NG: REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
CHECK COLUMN WIRE
1. Disconnect the column wire connector from the dash wire.
2. Measure the resistance between the body ground and D+ of the A28 column wire connector on the spiral cable side.
  Standard resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE COLUMN WIRE

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
CHECK DASH WIRE
1. Measure the resistance between the body ground and D+ of the II4 dash wire connector on the column wire side.
  Standard resistance: 1 MΩ or higher
