Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Toyota Land Cruiser. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. CHECK CONNECTOR
    1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
    2. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
    3. Disconnect the connectors from the steering wheel pad.
    4. Check that the spiral cable connectors (on the steering wheel pad side) are not damaged.

OK: The lock button is not disengaged, or the claw of the lock is not deformed or damaged.

    NG: REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP

  2. CHECK DRIVER SIDE SQUIB CIRCUIT
    1. Disconnect the connector from the center airbag sensor.
    2. Release the airbag activation prevention mechanism built in the connector on the center airbag sensor side between the steering wheel pad (driver side squib) and the center airbag sensor (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM  ).
    3. Measure the resistance between D+ and D- of the orange connector on the steering wheel pad (driver side squib) side between the center airbag sensor and the steering wheel pad (driver side squib).

Standard resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP

  3. CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
    1. Connect the connector to the center airbag sensor.
    2. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
    4. Clear the DTC stored in memory (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).
    5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
    6. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
    7. Check the DTC (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).

OK: DTC B0100/13 is not output.

      HINT:

Codes other than code B0100/13 may be output at this time, but they are not relevant to this check.

    1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
    2. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds.
    3. Connect the steering wheel pad (driver side squib) to the spiral cable.
    4. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.
    5. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
    6. Clear DTC stored in memory (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).
    7. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
    8. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
    9. Check the DTC (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).

OK: DTC B0100/13 is not output.

      HINT:

Codes other than code B0100/13 may be output at this time, but they are not relevant to this check.
