Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT APPARATUS 
    1. Choose the apparatus to be inspected.

      Result: 

      APPARATUS

      Result Proceed to
      Front No. 1 speaker assembly LH A
      Front No. 2 speaker assembly LH B
      • B: Go to step   4 
      • C: Go to step   5 
      • A: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  2. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Disconnect the F8 speaker connector.
    2. Measure the resistance of the speaker.

      Standard resistance 

      FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY LH

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Standard models: Approx. 2 Ω
      NOTE: The speaker should not be removed for checking.
    • NG: REPLACE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY LH 
    • OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER LH - FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER LH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F8 and T13 speaker connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION TABLE

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      F8-1 - T13-2 Below 1 Ω
      F8-2 - T13-1 Below 1 Ω
      F8-1 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      F8-2 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    • NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    • OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  
  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (NAVIGATION ECU - STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the N2 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the S6 amplifier connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      NAVIGATION ECU - STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      N2-10 (AUI-) - S6-9 (FL-) Below 1 Ω
      N2-1 (AUI+) - S6-2 (FL+) Below 1 Ω
      N2-10 (AUI-) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      N2-1 (AUI+) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    • NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    • OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  5. INSPECT STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using an oscilloscope, check the signal waveform between the terminals according to the conditions, shown in STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY  .

      OK 

      STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S6-2 (FL+) - Body ground While voice sound is being produced A waveform synchronized with sound is output
      S6-9 (FL-) - Body ground While voice sound is being produced A waveform synchronized with sound is output

    • NG: REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY 
    • OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
