Rear Cooler Control Panel: Inspection

- INSPECT ILLUMINATION LIGHT
- Connect the positive (+) lead to terminal 2 and negative (-) lead to terminal 21 then check that the indicators come on.
If operation is not as specified, replace the rear heater control assembly.
- Connect the positive (+) lead to terminal 2 and negative (-) lead to terminal 21 then check that the indicators come on.
- INSPECT INDICATOR
- Connect the positive (+) lead all the other terminals to terminal 1 and negative (-) lead to, then check that the indicator comes on, as shown in TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITIONSwitch Tester Connection Specified Condition Auto 3 Indicator Light Illuminates LO 4 Indicator Light Illuminates ME 5 Indicator Light Illuminates HI 6 Indicator Light Illuminates FACE 7 Indicator Light Illuminates Bi-Level 8 Indicator Light Illuminates FOOT 9 Indicator Light Illuminates If operation is not as specified, replace the rear heater control assembly.
- Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2, then check the indicators dim.
If operation is not as specified, replace the rear heater control assembly.
- Connect the positive (+) lead all the other terminals to terminal 1 and negative (-) lead to, then check that the indicator comes on, as shown in TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

- INSPECT HEATER CONTROL SWITCH
- Check the continuity between terminals while switch is pressed, as shown in TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

Standard resistance
TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITIONSwitch Tester Connection Specified Condition Auto 13 - 22 Below 1 Ω OFF 14 - 22 Below 1 Ω LO 15 - 22 Below 1 Ω ME 16 - 22 Below 1 Ω HI 17 - 22 Below 1 Ω FACE 18 - 22 Below 1 Ω Bi-Level 19 - 22 Below 1 Ω FOOT 20 - 22 Below 1 Ω If the result is not as specified, replace the rear heater control assembly.
- Check the continuity between terminals while switch is pressed, as shown in TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

- INSPECT VARIABLE RESISTOR
- Measure resistance between terminal 11 and 12.
Standard resistance: 3.0 kΩ
- Gradually move the temperature control lever from "COOL" side to "WARM" side, then check that the resistance between terminal 11 and 12 increase to 3.0 kΩ.
If operation is not as specified, replace the rear heater control assembly.
- Measure resistance between terminal 11 and 12.
