Inspection Procedure

PERFORM ACTUATOR CHECK

Warm up the engine.
Set to actuator check mode (see ACTUATOR CHECK ).
Press the DEF switch and change it to step operation.

Press the DEF switch and check the operation of the air mix damper and the condition of the blower.

DISPLAY CODE REFERENCE

Display Code	Air Mix Damper	Condition
0 to 2	0% (Fully closed)	Cool air comes out
3 to 4	50%	-
5 to 7	100% (Full opened)	Warm air comes out

OK: REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER

NG: GO TO NEXT STEP

CHECK FRONT AIR MIX DAMPER CONTROL SERVOMOTOR
1. Remove the front air mix servomotor.
2. Connect positive (+) lead to terminal HMOT (3) and negative (-) lead to terminal MCOOL (2) and check the front air mix servomotor.
  OK: The lever turns smoothly to warm side.
3. Connect positive (+) lead to terminal MCOOL (2) and negative (-) lead to terminal HMOT (3) and check the front air mix servomotor.
  OK: The lever turns smoothly to cool side.
NG: REPLACE FRONT AIR MIX DAMPER CONTROL SERVOMOTOR ASSEMBLY

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FRONT AIR MIX DAMPER CONTROL SERVOMOTOR - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER)
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK: REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER
