Brake Pedal: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE HYDRAULIC BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the hydraulic brake booster (see REMOVAL  ).
  3. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL 
    1. Disconnect the connector from the stop light switch.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts.
    3. Remove the brake pedal assembly.
  4. DISASSEMBLE BRAKE PEDAL 
    1. Remove the return spring with cushion.
    2. Remove the stop light switch.
    3. Remove the pedal pad.
