Inspection Procedure

HINT:

When using the intelligent tester, start from  1. When not using the intelligent tester, start from  2.

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER (SECURITY HORN) 
   1. Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the intelligent tester to generate a control command, and then check the security horn operation.

      Theft warning ECU assembly:

      SECURITY HORN2	Turns security horn ON / OFF	-

      OK: The security horn sounds or stops sounding in accordance with the tester command. 

   OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

   NG: GO TO NEXT STEP 

2. INSPECT SECURITY HORN ASSEMBLY 
   1. Apply battery voltage to the horn and check the operation of the horn.

      OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

      MEASUREMENT AND SPECIFIED CONDITION TABLE

      Battery positive (+) - Terminal 1 Battery negative (-) - Horn bracket	Horn sounds

   NG: REPLACE SECURITY HORN ASSEMBLY

   OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (THEFT WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY - SECURITY HORN ASSEMBLY) 
   1. Disconnect the T5 ECU connector.
   2. Disconnect the T1 horn connector.
   3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION TABLE
      
      

      Tester Connection	Specified Condition
      T5-1 (SH-) - T1-1	Below 1 Ω
      T5-1 (SH-) or T1-1 - Body ground	10 kΩ or higher

   NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

   OK: REPLACE THEFT WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY
