Power Seat Switch: Inspection

  1. INSPECT FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH 
    1. Check the front power seat switch.
      1. Check the continuity between the terminals when each switch is operated.

        OK: 

        Slide switch 

        FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH (SLIDE SWITCH)

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        4 (SLDR) - 6 (E) FRONT Continuity
        8 (SLDF) - 12 (B) FRONT Continuity
        6 (E) - 8 (SLDF) OFF Continuity
        4 (SLDR) - 6 (E) OFF Continuity
        4 (SLDR) - 12 (B) REAR Continuity
        6 (E) - 8 (SLDF) REAR Continuity

        Front vertical switch 

        FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH (FRONT VERTICAL SWITCH)

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        6 (E) - 9 (FDWN) UP Continuity
        10 (FUP) - 12 (B) UP Continuity
        6 (E) - 9 (FDWN) OFF Continuity
        6 (E) - 10 (FUP) OFF Continuity
        6 (E) - 10 (FUP) DOWN Continuity
        9 (FDWN) - 12 (B) DOWN Continuity

        Lifter switch 

        FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH (LIFTER SWITCH)

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        2 (LUP) - 12 (B) UP Continuity
        3 (LDWN) - 6 (E) UP Continuity
        2 (LUP) - 6 (E) OFF Continuity
        3 (LDWN) - 6 (E) OFF Continuity
        2 (LUP) - 6 (E) DOWN Continuity
        3 (LDWN) - 12 (B) DOWN Continuity

        Reclining switch 

        FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH (RECLINING SWITCH)

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        1 (RCLF) - 12 (B) FRONT Continuity
        5 (RCLR) - 6 (E) FRONT Continuity
        1 (RCLF) - 6 (E) OFF Continuity
        5 (RCLR) - 6 (E) OFF Continuity
        1 (RCLF) - 6 (E) REAR Continuity
        5 (RCLR) -12 (B) REAR Continuity

        If the continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

    2. Check the front power seat switch circuit.
      1. Disconnect the switch connector and connect the seat wire harness to the floor wire harness.
      2. Check the connector on the wire harness side.

        OK: 

        FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH CIRCUIT LH

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        6 (E) - Body ground Always Continuity
        12 (B) - Body ground Always Battery positive voltage

        If the circuit is not as specified, inspect the circuits connected to other parts.

  2. INSPECT FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH 
    1. Check the front power seat switch.
      1. Check the continuity between the terminals when each switch is operated.

        OK: Slide switch 

        Slide switch 

        FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH (SLIDE SWITCH)

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        4 (SLDR) - 6 (E) FRONT Continuity
        8 (SLDF) - 12 (B) FRONT Continuity
        4 (SLDR) - 6 (E) OFF Continuity
        6 (E) - 8 (SLDF) OFF Continuity
        4 (SLDR) - 12 (B) REAR Continuity
        6 (E) - 8 (SLDF) REAR Continuity

        Front vertical switch 

        FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH (FRONT VERTICAL SWITCH)

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        6 (E) - 10 (FDWN) UP Continuity
        9 (FUP) - 12 (B) UP Continuity
        6 (E) - 9 (FUP) OFF Continuity
        6 (E) - 10 (FDWN) OFF Continuity
        6 (E) - 9 (FUP) DOWN Continuity
        10 (FDWN) - 12 (B) DOWN Continuity

        Lifter switch 

        FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH (LIFTER SWITCH)

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        2 (LDWN) - 6 (E) UP Continuity
        3 (LUP) - 12 (B) UP Continuity
        2 (LDWN) - 6 (E) OFF Continuity
        3 (LUP) - 6 (E) OFF Continuity
        2 (LDWN) - 12 (B) DOWN Continuity
        3 (LUP) - 6 (E) DOWN Continuity

        Reclining switch 

        FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH (RECLINING SWITCH)

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        1 (RCLF) - 12 (B) FRONT Continuity
        5 (RCLR) - 6 (E) FRONT Continuity
        1 (RCLF) - 6 (E) OFF Continuity
        5 (RCLR) - 6 (E) OFF Continuity
        1 (RCLF) - 6 (E) REAR Continuity
        5 (RCLR) - 12 (B) REAR Continuity

        If the continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

    2. Check the front power seat switch circuit.
      1. Disconnect the switch connector and connect the seat wire harness to the floor wire harness.
      2. Inspect the connector on the wire harness side.

        OK 

        FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        6 (E) - Body ground Always Continuity
        12 (B) - Body ground Always Battery positive voltage

        If circuit is not as specified, inspect the circuits connected to other parts.
