FRONT SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY (w/Occupant Classification ECU, Occupant Classification Sensor): Installation

NOTE:
  • Never use SRS parts from another vehicle. When replacing the parts, replace them with new ones.
  • Never reuse an occupant classification ECU involved in a collision when the airbag has deployed.
  • If the occupant classification ECU has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace it with a new one.
  • When installing the occupant classification ECU, make sure that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.
  • After installing shake the occupant classification ECU to check that there is no looseness.
  • Remove the front seat cushion cover pad and front seat cushion cover together, in order to avoid occupant classification sensor malfunctions.
  • Replace the occupant classification ECU, occupant classification sensor, seat cushion cover pad, seat cushion cover and seat cushion seat heater as a set.
  1. INSTALL OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR 
    NOTE: Replace the occupant classification ECU, occupant classification sensor, seat cushion cover pad, seat cushion cover and seat cushion seat heater as a 5 part set.
    1. Install the sensor with 2 new clips.

    2. Connect the sensor.
  2. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  4. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  5. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER RH (See  REMOVAL  )

  6. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH (See  BUCKLE SWITCH CIRCUIT (2006/01-)  ) 
  7. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH (See  BUCKLE SWITCH CIRCUIT (2006/01-)  ) 
  8. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER RH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  9. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY 
  10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  11. INSERT OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU DATA (See  REGISTRATION   ) 
  12. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION AND SENSITIVITY CHECK (See  REGISTRATION   ) 
  13. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check SRS warning light (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM  ).
