Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR SHORT TO GND (DLC3 SUB BUS LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the J32 DLC3 sub bus line connector from the junction connector B side.
      NOTE:
      • Before disconnecting the connector, make a note of where it is connected.
      • Reconnect the connector to its original position.

    2. Measure the resistance of the DLC3.

      Standard resistance 

      CAN BUS LINE FOR SHORT TO GND (DLC3 SUB BUS LINE)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D7-6 (CANH) - D7-4 (CG) Ignition switch OFF 1 MΩ or higher
      D7-14 (CANL) - D7-4 (CG) Ignition switch OFF 1 MΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE DLC3 SUB BUS LINE AND CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L) 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  2. CONNECT CONNECTOR 
    1. Reconnect the J32 DLC3 sub bus line connector to the junction connector side.
  3. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR SHORT TO GND (ECM MAIN BUS LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the J29 ECM main bus line connector from the junction connector B side.
      NOTE:
      • Before disconnecting the connector, make a note of where it is connected.
      • Reconnect the connector to its original position.

    2. Measure the resistance of the DLC3.

      Standard resistance 

      CAN BUS LINE FOR SHORT TO GND (ECM MAIN BUS LINE)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D7-6 (CANH) - D7-4 (CG) Ignition switch OFF 3 kΩ or higher
      D7-14 (CANL) - D7-4 (CG) Ignition switch OFF 3 kΩ or higher

    OK: Go to step   8 

    NG: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  4. CONNECT CONNECTOR 
    1. Reconnect the J29 ECM main bus line connector to the junction connector B side.
  5. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR SHORT TO GND (GATEWAY ECU MAIN BUS LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the J30 gateway ECU sub bus line connector from the junction connector B side.
      NOTE:
      • Before disconnecting the connector, make a note of where it is connected.
      • Reconnect the connector to its original position.

    2. Measure the resistance of the DLC3.

      Standard resistance 

      CAN BUS LINE FOR SHORT TO GND (GATEWAY ECU MAIN BUS LINE)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D7-6 (CANH) - D7-4 (CG) Ignition switch OFF 3 kΩ or higher
      D7-14 (CANL) - D7-4 (CG) Ignition switch OFF 3 kΩ or higher

    OK: Go to step   10 

    NG: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  6. CONNECT CONNECTOR 
    1. Reconnect the J30 gateway ECU main bus line connector to the junction connector B side.
  7. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR SHORT TO GND (TRANSLATE ECU SUB BUS LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the T29 translate ECU connector.

    2. Measure the resistance of the DLC3.

      Standard resistance 

      CAN BUS LINE FOR SHORT TO GND (TRANSLATE ECU SUB BUS LINE)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D7-6 (CANH) - D7-4 (CG) Ignition switch OFF 3 kΩ or higher
      D7-14 (CANL) - D7-4 (CG) Ignition switch OFF 3 kΩ or higher

    OK: REPLACE TRANSLATE ECU 

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE TRANSLATE ECU SUB BUS LINE AND CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L) 

  8. CONNECT CONNECTOR 
    1. Reconnect the J29 ECM main bus line connector to the junction connector B side.
  9. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR SHORT TO GND (ECM MAIN BUS LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the E8 ECM connector.

    2. Measure the resistance of the DLC3.

      Standard resistance 

      CAN BUS LINE FOR SHORT TO GND (ECM MAIN BUS LINE)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D7-6 (CANH) - D7-4 (CG) Ignition switch OFF 3 kΩ or higher
      D7-14 (CANL) - D7-4 (CG) Ignition switch OFF 3 kΩ or higher

    OK: REPLACE ECM 

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE ECM MAIN BUS LINE AND CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L) 

  10. CONNECT CONNECTOR 
    1. Reconnect the J30 gateway ECU main bus line connector to the junction connector B side.
  11. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR SHORT TO GND (GATEWAY ECU MAIN BUS LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the G4 gateway ECU connector.

    2. Measure the resistance of the DLC3.

      Standard resistance 

      CAN BUS LINE FOR SHORT TO GND (GATEWAY ECU MAIN BUS LINE)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D7-6 (CANH) - D7-4 (CG) Ignition switch OFF 3 kΩ or higher
      D7-14 (CANL) - D7-4 (CG) Ignition switch OFF 3 kΩ or higher

    OK: REPLACE GATEWAY ECU 

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE GATEWAY ECU MAIN BUS LINE AND CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L)
