Inspection Procedure

HINT:

When using the intelligent tester, start from 2. When not using the intelligent tester, start from 3.

CHECK OPERATION OF STOP LIGHT
1. Check that the stop light comes on when the brake pedal is depressed and turns off when the brake pedal is released (see STOP LIGHT SWITCH ).
NG: CHECK OR REPAIR STOP LIGHT CIRCUIT

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER (STOP LIGHT SWITCH)
1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push the intelligent tester main switch ON.
3. Select the DATA LIST mode on the intelligent tester.
4. Check the stop light switch condition displayed on the intelligent tester when depressing and releasing the brake pedal.
  OK:
  
  When the brake pedal is depressed: ON is displayed for the stop light switch condition. When the brake pedal is released: OFF is displayed for the stop light switch condition.
OK: Go to step 4

NG: REPLACE SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU

CHECK SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU

Remove the suspension control ECU with connectors still connected.
Turn the ignition switch ON.

Measure the voltage between terminal STP of the suspension control ECU connector and body ground when brake pedal is released and depressed.

Standard voltage

TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

S2-0-1 (STP) - Body ground	Depressed	9 to 14 V
S2-0-1 (STP) - Body ground	Released	Below 1.5 V

NG: REPLACE SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP

CHECK WIRE HARNESS (STOP LIGHT SWITCH - SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU)
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK: REPLACE SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU
