Terminals Of Ecu

  1. COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the D1 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage and resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard: 

      ECU TERMINAL REFERENCE

      Terminal No. (Symbol) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
      D1-1 (IG2) - Body ground B - Body ground Ignition switch signal Ignition switch OFF → ON Below 1 V → 11 to 14 V
      D1-2 (ECUB) - Body ground L - Body ground Battery Always 11 to 14 V
      D1-24 (ET) - Body ground BR - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω

      HINT:

      If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the wire harness.

    3. Disconnect the D76 combination meter assembly connector.
    4. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard voltage:

      Ignition switch ON, Tire pressure warning light OFF 3.2 V or higher
      D1-7 (ILL-) - Body ground GR - Body ground Light control rheostat signal Ignition switch OFF → ON Pulse generation (see  1waveform 1)
      D1-14 (ILL+) - Body ground G - Body ground Illumination signal Light control switch OFF → ON Below 1 V → 11 to 14 V
      D1-15 (TC) - Body ground Y - Body ground Tail cancel switch signal Tail cancel switch OFF → ON Below 1 V → 11 to 14 V
      D1-16 (+S) - Body ground SB - Body ground Vehicle speed signal (Output) Driving at approx. 12 mph (20 km/h) Pulse generation (see  2waveform 2)
      D1-17 (SI) -Body ground P - Body ground Vehicle Speed signal (Input) Driving at approx. 12 mph (20 km/h) Pulse generation (see  2waveform 2)

      HINT:
      If the result is not as specified, the combination meter assembly may be malfunctioning
      *1: for U.S.A. only

      *3: Vehicles with Daytime running lights
      *4: Vehicles without Daytime running lights
      *5: Vehicles with Front fog lights
      *6: Vehicles with Washer level warning lights
      *7: Vehicles with Tire Pressure Warning System
      1. Waveform 1: Using an oscilloscope
        WAVEFORM REFERENCE 1

        Terminal Connections D1-7 (ILL-) - Body Ground
        Tool Setting 5V / DIV, 50 ms / DIV

      2. Waveform 2: Using an oscilloscope
        WAVEFORM REFERENCE 2

        Terminal Connections D1-16 (+S) - Body Ground
        D1-17 (SI) -Body Ground
        Tool Setting 5V / DIV, 20ms / DIV
        Condition Driving at approximately 12mph (20km/h)

        HINT:

        As the vehicle speed increases, the cycle of the signal waveform narrows.
