Inspection Procedure

CHECK STOP LIGHT SWITCH OPERATION

Check that the stop light turns on when the brake pedal is depressed and turns off when the brake pedal is released.

STOP LIGHT SWITCH OPERATION REFERENCE

Condition	Stop Light Condition
Brake pedal depressed	Turns on
Brake pedal released	Turns off

OK: Go to step 3

NG: GO TO NEXT STEP

CHECK STOP LIGHT CIRCUIT
NG: CHECK STOP LIGHT BULB AND REPAIR OR REPLACE STOP LIGHT CIRCUIT

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
CHECK SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the skid control ECU with the connectors still connected.
2. Measure the voltage between terminal STP of the skid control ECU and body ground when the brake pedal is depressed.
  OK:
  
  Standard voltage: 10 to 14 V

NG: GO TO NEXT STEP
CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - STOP LIGHT SWITCH)
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK: REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
