Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - TRANSLATE ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the A42 and T29 ECU connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      A42-14 (ENG+) - T29-14 (ENG+) Below 1 Ω
      A42-16 (TRC-) - T29-17 (TRC-) Below 1 Ω
      A42-22 (ENG-) - T29-15 (ENG-) Below 1 Ω
      A42-24 (TRC+) - T29-16 (TRC+) Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  2. CHECK ECU COMMUNICATION (SKID CONTROL ECU - TRANSLATE ECU) 
    1. Remove the skid control ECU.
    2. Connect an oscilloscope to terminals ENG+ and ENG- or TRC+ and TRC- of skid control ECU.
    3. Start the engine, and check the signal waveform.

      OK: A waveform is output as shown. 

    NG: REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU 

    OK: REPLACE TRANSLATE ECU
