Park / Neutral Position Switch: Removal

DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
REMOVE BATTERY
1. Loosen the nut and remove the bolt and battery clamp.
2. Remove the battery and insulator.
3. Remove battery tray.
4. Remove the 4 bolts and battery carrier.
5. Remove the 2 bolts and battery bracket reinforcement.
REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY
1. Disconnect the switch connector.

2. Remove the nut and disconnect the control cable from the control shaft lever.

3. Remove the nut, washer and control shaft lever.

4. Using a screwdriver, pry off the lock plate.
5. Remove the nut and lock plate.
6. Remove the 2 bolts and pull out the switch.
