FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Sedan): Disassembly

CAUTION: Wear protective gloves. Sharp surfaces on the front seat adjuster frame could cause injuries to your hands.

HINT:

The procedure described below is for the driver side. Use the same procedure for both the front passenger and driver sides, unless otherwise specified.

  1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER SHIELD 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw and the clip and remove the front seat cushion outer shield.

  3. REMOVE VERTICAL ADJUSTER COVER (w/ Vertical Adjuster) 
    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 3 claws and remove the vertical adjuster cover.

  4. REMOVE VERTICAL ADJUSTER KNOB (w/ Vertical Adjuster) 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and the vertical adjuster knob.

  5. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE 
    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the reclining adjuster release handle.

  6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION OUTER SHIELD 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and the clip and remove the front seat cushion outer shield.

  7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER PAD 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and 7 hooks.

    2. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips and the front seat cushion cover pad.

  8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT 
    1. Remove the 3 hog rings.

    2. Remove the 2 hog rings.

    3. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front seat headrest support.

      HINT:

      Use the same procedure for both sides.

  9. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK COVER PAD 
    1. Remove the front seatback cover pad.

  10. REMOVE VERTICAL ADJUSTER SPACER (w/ Vertical Adjuster) 
    1. Disengage the claw and remove the vertical adjuster spacer.

  11. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Disengage the claw and remove the reclining adjuster inside cover.

  12. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH 
    1. w/ Front Seat Side Airbag:
      1. Remove the clamp.
    2. Remove the screw.
    3. Disengage the claw and remove the reclining adjuster inside cover.

  13. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER OUTSIDE COVER RH 
    1. Remove the screw and the reclining adjuster outside cover.
  14. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER OUTSIDE COVER LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  15. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION LOWER SHIELD RH 
    1. w/Vertical Adjuster:
      1. Remove the screw.
      2. Disengage the claw and remove the front seat cushion lower shield.

    2. w/o Vertical Adjuster:
      1. Remove the screw.
      2. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front seat cushion lower shield.

  16. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION LOWER SHIELD LH 
    1. w/ Vertical Adjuster:
      1. Remove the screw.
      2. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front seat cushion lower shield.

    2. w/o Vertical Adjuster:
      1. Remove the screw.
      2. Disengage the claw and remove the front seat cushion lower shield.

  17. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION PROTECTOR 
    1. Remove the 2 front seat cushion protectors.

  18. REMOVE SEAT POSITION SENSOR PROTECTOR (for Driver Side) 
    1. Disengage the pin and remove the seat position sensor protector.

  19. REMOVE SEAT POSITION SENSOR (for Driver Side) 
    1. Using "Torx" socket wrench T30, remove the bolt and the seat position sensor.

  20. REMOVE FRONT SEAT WIRE (for Front Passenger Side) 
    1. Disconnect the 5 connectors.
    2. Remove the 2 clamps and the front seat wire

  21. REMOVE OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU (for Front Passenger Side) 
    1. Disengage the claw and remove the occupant detection ECU.
