BACK DOOR LOCK (for Hatchback): Inspection

- INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Theft Deterrent System)
- Check the resistance of the unlock detection switch.
- Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance and check the results in accordance with the value(s) in the tables below.
Standard Resistance
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Door Lock Condition Specified Condition 1-2 Unlocked Below 1 Ω 1-2 Locked 10 kΩ or higher If the result is not as specified, replace the back door lock actuator.
- Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance and check the results in accordance with the value(s) in the tables below.
- Check the resistance of the unlock detection switch.
- INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (w/o Theft Deterrent System)
- Check the operation.
- Apply battery voltage to the back door lock actuator and check the operation of the back door lock motor.

Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 1Unlocks Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 1
Battery negative (-) --> terminal 2Locks If the result is not as specified, replace the back door lock actuator.
- Apply battery voltage to the back door lock actuator and check the operation of the back door lock motor.
- Check the operation.
