Section 165 (Charging System (2AZ-FE)): Generator: Disassembly

REMOVE GENERATOR PULLEY WITH CLUTCH
1. Remove the cap from the pulley.
  1. Using a screwdriver, puncture the center of the cap and pry it off.
    NOTE: Do not reuse the cap.

2. Install SST to the pulley and vise as shown in Fig 2.
  SST 09820-63020
3. Mount SST (A) in a vise.

4. Turn SST (B) clockwise to loosen the pulley.
5. Remove the pulley.

REMOVE GENERATOR BRUSH HOLDER ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the 3 nuts and generator rear end cover.

2. Remove the terminal insulator.

3. Remove the 2 screws and generator brush holder.

REMOVE GENERATOR ROTOR ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the bolt and cord clip.

2. Remove the 4 bolts.

3. Using SST, remove the coil.
  SST 09950-40011 (09951-04020, 09952-04010, 09953-04020, 09954-04010, 09955-04071, 09957-04010)

4. Remove the washer.
5. Remove the generator rotor.
