Inspection Procedure

PERFORM ACTUATOR CHECK

Warm up the engine.
Set the actuator check mode (see ACTUATOR CHECK ).
Press the DEF switch and change it to step operation.

Press the DEF switch and check the operation of the air mix damper and the condition of the blower.

DISPLAY CODE REFERENCE

Display Code	Air Mix Damper	Condition
0 to 2	0% (Fully closed)	Cool air comes out
3 to 4	50%	Cool/Warm
5 to 7	100% (Full opened)	Warm air comes out

OK: REPLACE REAR AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER

NG: GO TO NEXT STEP

CHECK REAR AIR MIX DAMPER CONTROL SERVOMOTOR
1. Remove the rear air mix servomotor.
2. Connect the positive (+) lead terminal MHOT (1) and negative (-) lead to terminal MCOOL (2) and check the rear air mix servomotor.
  OK: The lever turns smoothly to warm side.
3. Connect the positive (+) lead to terminal MCOOL (2) and negative (-) lead to terminal MHOT (1) and check the rear air mix servomotor.
  OK: The lever turns smoothly to cool side.
NG: REPLACE REAR AIR MIX SERVOMOTOR

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
CHECK WIRE HARNESS (REAR AIR MIX DAMPER CONTROL SERVOMOTOR - REAR AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER)
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK: REPLACE REAR AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER
