Front Brake Pad, Brake Caliper & Brake Rotor: Installation
- INSTALL FRONT DISC
- Align the matchmarks of the disc and axle hub and install the disc.
HINT:
When replacing the disc, select the position that gives the minimum disc runout.
- Align the matchmarks of the disc and axle hub and install the disc.
- INSTALL DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY
- Install the disc brake cylinder with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 123 N*m (1,254 kgf*cm, 91 ft.*lbf)
- Using a union nut wrench, install the brake tube onto the disc brake cylinder.
Torque: without union nut wrench
15 N*m (155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf)
with union nut wrench
14 N*m (144 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf)
NOTE:- This torque value can be obtained by using a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.8 in.) and a union nut wrench with a fulcrum length of 22 mm (0.866 in.) (See REPAIR INSTRUCTION ).
- This torque value is effective when the union nut wrench is parallel to a torque wrench.
- Install the disc brake cylinder with the 2 bolts.
- INSTALL FRONT ANTI SQUEAL SHIM KIT NOTE: If necessary, replace the anti squeal shim when replacing the brake pad.
- Apply disc brake grease to both sides of each No. 1 shim.
- Install the No. 1 and No. 2 anti squeal shims onto each brake pad.

- INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD
- Install the 2 disc brake pads with anti squeal shims onto the disc brake cylinder.NOTE: There should be no oil or grease on the friction surfaces of the disc brake pads or the front disc.
- Install the 2 disc brake pads with anti squeal shims onto the disc brake cylinder.
- INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE ANTI RATTLE WITH HOLE PIN
- Install the anti rattle spring and 2 hole pins onto the disc brake cylinder.
HINT:
The anti rattle spring is installed onto the lower hole pin.
- Install the 2 new pin hold clips onto the hole pin.NOTE: Install the pin hold clip with its handle oriented in the center of the vehicle.
- Install the anti rattle spring and 2 hole pins onto the disc brake cylinder.
- FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID (See BLEEDING )
- BLEED BRAKE LINE (See BLEEDING )
- CHECK FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR (See BLEEDING )
- CHECK FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE
- INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
Torque: 112 N*m (1,137 kgf*cm, 82 ft.*lbf)
