Front Seat Assembly: Removal
CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag) (See PRECAUTION
).
HINT:
The procedure described below is for the driver side. Use the same procedure for both the driver and front passenger sides, unless otherwise specified.
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from working (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag).
- REMOVE FRONT SEAT TRACK COVER
HINT:
Use the same procedure for both sides.
- Insert a flat-head screwdriver (diameter: approximately above 5 mm (0.197 in.)) between the front seat track cover inside claw lower part and floor mat.
- Place an object with a height of approximately 5 to 8 mm (0.197 to 0.315 in.) below the screwdriver. Use the object as the screwdriver fulcrum and push down on the screwdriver to remove the front seat track cover inside claw.

FRONT SEAT TRACK COVERArea Measurement a 1.6 mm (0.063 in.) b 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) c 5.0 to 8.0 mm (0.197 to 0.315 in.) - Lift up on the area where the claw was removed. Then push in the direction of the claw on the opposite side to remove the outside claw.
- After the 2 claws have been removed, carefully pull the front seat track cover rearward and remove the front seat track cover.
- REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY
- for Driver Side:
- Using a clip remover, remove the clamp.
- Disconnect the 2 buckle switch connectors.
- w/ Front Seat Side Airbag:
- Slide the slider and disconnect the airbag connector.
- for Front Passenger Side:
- Using a clip remover, remove the clamp.
- Disconnect the connector.
- w/ Front Seat Side Airbag:
- Slide the slider and disconnect the airbag connector.
- Move the front seat to the most forward position.
- Remove the 2 bolts from the rear side.
- Move the front seat to the most rearward position.
- Remove the 2 bolts from the front side.
- Remove the front seat.
