Rear Brake Shoe, Wheel Cylinder & Brake Drum: Installation

HINT:

• Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
• The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. INSTALL REAR BRAKE DRUM SUB-ASSEMBLY 
   1. Aligning the matchmarks, install the rear brake drum.
2. ADJUST REAR DRUM BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE 
   1. Temporarily install 2 hub nuts.
   2. Remove the hole plug, and turn the adjuster to expand the shoe until the drum locks.

   3. Rotate the adjuster by 8 notches.
   4. Install the hole plug.
   5. Remove the 2 hub nuts.
3. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID (See  BRAKE PEDAL  ) 
4. BLEED AIR FROM FRONT AND REAR BRAKE SYSTEMS (See  BRAKE PEDAL  ) 
5. CHECK FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE 
6. CHECK FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR 
7. INSTALL REAR WHEEL 

   Torque: 103 N*m (1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf) 

8. CHECK PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ) 
9. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL (See  ADJUSTMENT  ) 
10. CHECK AND CLEAR DTC 
    1. Check and clear the DTC (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
