Power Steering Gear: Installation
- INSTALL POWER STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY
- Install the power steering link assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.
Torque: 70 N*m (714 kgf*cm, 52 ft.*lbf)

NOTE: Turn the bolt while holding the nut.
- Install the power steering link assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.
- INSTALL ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE
HINT:
Refer to the instructions for installation of the engine assembly (See INSTALLATION ).
- CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY
- Connect the tie rod assembly (LH side) to the steering knuckle with the castle nut.
Torque: 49 N*m (500 kgf*cm, 36 ft.*lbf)
- Install a new cotter pin.NOTE: Further tighten the nut up to 60° if the holes for the cotter pin are not aligned.
- Connect the RH side by using the same procedure as for the LH side.
- Connect the tie rod assembly (LH side) to the steering knuckle with the castle nut.
- CONNECT STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
- Align matchmarks on the steering intermediate shaft assembly and the power steering link assembly.
- Install the bolt.
Torque: 35 N*m (360 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf)
- Install the clamp to the steering column hole shield and tighten the bolt.
- CONNECT FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH (See INSTALLATION )
- CONNECT FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH
HINT:
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
- INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER NO.2
- INSTALL FRONT WHEELS
Torque: 103 N*m (1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf)
- CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
- PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
- INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT

- PERFORM INITIALIZATION
- Some systems need initialization when disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal (See INITIALIZATION ).
- INITIALIZE ROTATION ANGLE SENSOR AND CALIBRATE TORQUE SENSOR ZERO POINT
