Inspection Procedure
- INSPECT FUSE (FUEL OPN)
- Remove the FUEL OPN fuse from the instrument pane J/ B.
- Measure the resistance of the fuse.
Standard resistance: Below 1 Ω
NG: REPLACE FUSE (FUEL OPN)
OK: Go to Next Step
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER
- Connect the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and turn the intelligent tester main switch on.
- Perform the ACTIVE TEST according to the tester display.TESTER DISPLAY REFERENCE
Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note FUEL FILLER OPN Fuel lid opener control ON / OFF - OK: Fuel lid opens.
NG: Go to step 3
OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
- INSPECT FUEL LID OPENER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
- Remove the fuel lid opener motor assembly (See REMOVAL ).
- Apply battery voltage to the lock terminals and check that the motor operates and the shaft moves in the open direction.
OK
MEASUREMENT CONDITION REFERENCEMeasurement Condition Specified Condition Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2
Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1Motor operates and shaft moves in open direction - Measure the shaft stroke.
Standard: 10.3 mm (0.406 in.) or more
If the result is not as specified, replace the motor assembly.
NG: REPLACE FUEL LID OPENER MOTOR ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
OK: Go to Next Step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL LID OPENER MOTOR - HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU)
- Disconnect the H13 ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Condition Specified Condition F17-1 - H13-11 (FUO) Always Below 1 Ω F17-1 -Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to Next Step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL LID OPENER MOTOR - BATTERY)
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
