Front Seat Cushion Heater: Inspection

  1. INSPECT FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER LH 
    1. Check the seat cushion heater.
      1. Apply battery voltage and check the seat cushion heater.

        OK 

        MEASUREMENT CONDITION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

        Measurement Condition Specified Condition
        Battery positive (+) → Terminal A-2
        Battery negative (-) → Terminal B-6
        Seat cushion heater becomes warm

        If the result is not as specified, replace the seat cushion cover.

        NOTE: Immediately after confirming that the seat heater is functioning normally, remove the battery leads. Failing to do so may cause the seat heater to overheat.
    2. Check the thermostat.
      1. Apply battery voltage and check the seat cushion heater.

        OK 

        MEASUREMENT CONDITION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

        Measurement Condition Specified Condition
        Battery positive (+) → Terminal A-2
        Battery negative (-) → Terminal B-4
        Seat cushion heater temperature below 44°C (111°F)

        If the result is not as specified, replace the seat cushion cover.

        NOTE: Immediately after confirming that the seat heater is functioning normally, remove the battery leads. Failing to do so may cause the seat heater to overheat.
  2. INSPECT FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER RH 
    1. Check the seat cushion heater.
      1. Apply battery voltage and check the seat cushion heater.

        OK

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal A-2
        Battery negative (-) → Terminal B-6
        Seat cushion heater becomes warm

        If the result is not as specified, replace the seat cushion cover.
