(Door / Hatch): Hood: Adjustment

  1. INSPECT HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check that the clearance measurements of areas A to C are within the standard range.

      Standard clearance 

      MEASUREMENT AREA

      Area Measurement
      A 2.5 to 5.5 mm (0.098 to 0.216 in.)
      B 4.2 to 7.2 mm (0.158 to 0.276 in.)
      C 1.1 to 1.9 mm (-0.043 to 0.075 in.)
  2. ADJUST HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Adjust the hood's position.

      HINT:

      • Centering bolts are used to mount the hood hinge and hood lock. The hood and hood lock cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts on. Substitute the centering bolts with standard bolts (with washers) when making adjustments.
      • A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart (See REMOVAL ).

      1. Loosen the hood side's 4 hinge bolts and adjust the hood's position.
      2. Tighten the hood side's 4 hinge bolts after the adjustment.

      Torque: 13 N*m (133 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf)

    2. Adjust the cushion rubber so that the height of the hood and the fender are aligned.
      1. Raise or lower the hood side's front end by turning the cushion rubber.

    3. Adjust the hood lock position.

      HINT:

      • Centering bolts are used to mount the hood hinge and hood lock. The hood and hood lock cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts on. Substitute the centering bolts with standard bolts (with washers) when making adjustments.
      • A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart (See REMOVAL ).

      1. Loosen the 3 hood lock bolts.

      2. Adjust the hood lock position so that the striker can enter it smoothly.
      3. Tighten the hood lock bolts after the adjustment.

        Torque: 7.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf)
