Steering Pad: Removal

  1. PRECAUTION 
    CAUTION: Be sure to read "PRECAUTION " thoroughly before servicing (see ).
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.
  3. REMOVE STEERING PAD 

    If the airbag connector is disconnected with the ignition switch at ON or ACC, DTCs will be recorded.

    1. Place the front wheels facing straight ahead.
    2. Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30), loosen the 2 "TORX" screw until the groove along the screw circumference catches on the screw case.

    3. Pull out the steering pad from the steering wheel assembly.
    4. Using a screwdriver, release the lock part of each airbag connector and disconnect the 2 airbag connectors.
