Engine Rear Oil Seal: Removal
- REMOVE MANUAL TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)
- Remove the manual transaxle assembly (See REMOVAL ).
- REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)
- Remove the automatic transaxle assembly (See REMOVAL ).
- REMOVE CLUTCH COVER ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)
- Remove the clutch cover assembly (See REMOVAL ).
- REMOVE CLUTCH DISC ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)
- Remove the clutch disc assembly (See REMOVAL ).
- REMOVE FLYWHEEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)
- Using SST, hold the crankshaft.
SST 09960-10010 (09962-01000, 09963-01000)
- Remove the 8 bolts and flywheel.
- Using SST, hold the crankshaft.
- REMOVE DRIVE PLATE & RING GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)
- Using SST, hold the crankshaft.
SST 09960-10010 (09962-01000, 09963-01000)
- Remove the 8 bolts and drive plate & ring gear.
- Using SST, hold the crankshaft.
- REMOVE ENGINE REAR OIL SEAL
- Using a knife, cut off the oil seal lip.
- Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with tape, pry out the oil seal.NOTE: After removing, check the crankshaft for damage. If damaged, smooth the surface with 400-grit sandpaper.
