1. Disconnect the R7 connector.
2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard voltage

   R7-2 - Body ground	Headlight dimmer switch OFF → TAIL	Below 1 V → 10 to 14 V

3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

NG: REPLACE LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT 

OK: GO TO Next Step 

1. Check signal waveform.
   1. Remove the light control rheostat with connectors still connected.
   2. Check the signal waveform according to the condition(s) in the table below.

   OK

   HINT:

   Duty ratio changes as illumination becomes darker ("A" becomes longer).

2. Disconnect R7 connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard resistance 

   TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART
   
   

   Tester connection	Condition	Specified condition
   R7-2 - R7-8	Tail cancel position (rheostat knob is fully turned up)	10 kΩ or higher
   R7-2 - R7-8	Non-tail cancel position	Below 1 Ω

OK: GO TO Next Step 

1. Disconnect the C9, C16 and R7 connectors.
2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard resistance

   C9-28 - R7-5	Always	Below 1 Ω

OK: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

1. Disconnect the R7 connector.
2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard resistance 

   TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART
   
   

   Tester connection	Condition	Specified condition
   R7-2 - R7-8	Tail cancel position (rheostat knob is fully turned up)	10 kΩ or higher

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
