Front Passenger Airbag Assembly: Removal
- PRECAUTION CAUTION: Be sure to read the "PRECAUTION" thoroughly before servicing (See PRECAUTION in AIRBAG SYSTEM).
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP RH
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY NO. 2 (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL RH (See REMOVAL )
- DISCONNECT FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR
- Disconnect the connector.NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
- Disconnect the connector.
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
HINT:
Refer to the procedures up to "REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY" (See REMOVAL ).
- REMOVE SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT NO.2 (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT NO.3 (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY
- Remove the clip.
- Disconnect the 2 connectors from the front passenger airbag assembly.NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
- REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Release the rear side airbag door from the hook by slightly deflecting it and roll the front passenger airbag assembly forward.
- Release the front side airbag door from the other hook and remove the front passenger airbag assembly.
- INSPECT FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
