Rear Axle Carrier: Removal
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
- REMOVE REAR WHEEL
- SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH
- Remove the bolt, and separate the flexible hose from the shock absorber.
- Remove the 2 bolts and separate the rear disc brake caliper assembly LH.NOTE: Use a wire or an equivalent to keep the brake caliper from hanging down by the flexible hose.
- REMOVE REAR DISC
- DISCONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR
- Disconnect the skid control sensor connector.
- REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB & BEARING ASSEMBLY LH
- Remove the 4 bolts and rear axle hub & bearing assembly LH.
- SEPARATE STRUT ROD ASSEMBLY REAR
- Remove the bolt and nut, and the strut rod assembly rear (rear axle carrier side) from the rear axle carrier sub-assembly LH.
HINT:
When removing the bolt, keep the nut from rotating.
- Remove the bolt and nut, and the strut rod assembly rear (rear axle carrier side) from the rear axle carrier sub-assembly LH.
- SEPARATE REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY NO.2 LH
- Remove the bolt and nut, and separate the rear suspension arm assembly No.2 LH (rear axle carrier side) from the rear axle carrier sub-assembly LH.
HINT:
When removing the bolt, keep the nut from rotating.
- Remove the bolt and nut, and separate the rear suspension arm assembly No.2 LH (rear axle carrier side) from the rear axle carrier sub-assembly LH.
- SEPARATE REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY NO.1 LH
- Remove the bolt and nut, separate the rear suspension arm assembly No. 1 LH (rear axle carrier side) from the rear axle carrier sub-assembly.
HINT:
When removing the bolt, keep the nut from rotating.
- Remove the bolt and nut, separate the rear suspension arm assembly No. 1 LH (rear axle carrier side) from the rear axle carrier sub-assembly.
- REMOVE REAR AXLE CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
- Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts, and remove the rear axle carrier sub-assembly LH from the shock absorber.
