Front Axle Hub: Removal
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
- REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
- REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB LH NUT (See REMOVAL )
- SEPARATE SPEED SENSOR FRONT LH (See REMOVAL )
- SEPARATE FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH
- Remove the 2 bolts and separate the front disc brake caliper assembly LH from the steering knuckle LH.NOTE: Use a wire or an equivalent to keep the brake caliper from hanging down by the flexible hose.
- Remove the 2 bolts and separate the front disc brake caliper assembly LH from the steering knuckle LH.
- REMOVE FRONT DISC
- SEPARATE TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (See REMOVAL )
- SEPARATE FRONT SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.1 LH (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY LH
- Put matchmarks on the front drive shaft assembly LH and the front axle hub sub-assembly LH.
- Using a plastic hammer, separate the front drive shaft assembly LH from the front axle hub sub-assembly LH.NOTE: Be careful not to damage the drive shaft boot and speed sensor rotor.
- Remove the 2 bolts, nuts and steering knuckle LH with the front axle hub sub-assembly LH.
