Inspection Procedure
- READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER (LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT)
- Operate the intelligent tester according to the steps on the display and select the "DATA LIST".

A: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
- REPLACE BODY ECU
HINT:
Check illumination circuit before replacing body ECU (See ILLUMINATION CIRCUIT ).
OK:
Operation of the light control rheostat returns to normal.
NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
OK: END
- INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the E2 connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

OK: CHECK ILLUMINATION
- INSPECT LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT
- Remove the light control rheostat.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONSTester Connection Condition Specified Condition E1-1 (E) - E1-4 (RV) Rheostat knob fully turns clockwise. 8 to 12 Ω E1-1 (E) - E1-4 (RV) Rheostat knob fully turns counterclockwise. Approx. 0 Ω E1-2 (TC) - E1-3 (T) Rheostat knob fully turns clockwise. Below 1 Ω E1-2 (TC) - E1-3 (T) Rheostat knob fully turns counterclockwise. 10 Ω or higher

OK: Go to Next Step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT)
- Disconnect the E1 and E2 connectors.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
