Service Plug Grip: Removal

CAUTION:

When working on the high voltage systems, always wear insulating gloves.
Keep the removed service plug in your pocket to prevent other technicians from reconnecting it while you are servicing the vehicle.
After removing the service plug grip, do not touch the high voltage connectors and terminals for 5 minutes.

NOTE: After removing the service plug grip, do not operate the power switch as it may damage the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

PRECAUTION
CAUTION: The hybrid system uses high voltage circuits, so improper handling could cause an electric shock or leakage. During service (including installation/removal, inspection and replacement of parts), be sure to follow the procedures (see PRECAUTION ).
REMOVE REAR NO. 2 FLOOR BOARD
1. As shown in the illustration, turn the knob to release the lock.
2. Remove the rear floor board No. 2.

REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX
1. Remove the deck floor box rear shown in the illustration.

REMOVE REAR NO. 3 FLOOR BOARD
1. Remove the rear floor board shown in the illustration.

DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the 12 V auxiliary battery.

REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP
CAUTION: Wear insulating gloves.
1. Slide up the lever of the service plug grip. Remove the service plug grip while turning the lever to the left.
2. Insulate the service plug with insulating tape.

REMOVE BATTERY POSITIVE TERMINAL
1. Remove the 2 joints shown in the illustration, then remove the service plug grip cover.

2. Remove the 2 bolts and electric vehicle fuse.
