Brake Pedal: Installation

INSTALL BRAKE PEDAL SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Install the brake pedal support with the 4 nuts.
  Torque: 13 N*m (130 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf)

2. Install the brake pedal support to the instrument panel side with the bolt.
  Torque: 24 N*m (241 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf)

3. Connect the connector to the stop light switch.
4. Connect the connector to the brake pedal stroke sensor.
INSTALL MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS
1. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the circumference of the brake master cylinder push rod pin.
2. Install the push rod clevis to the brake pedal with the brake master cylinder push rod pin.
3. Install the clip and brake pedal return spring.

INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Install the instrument panel (see INSTALLATION ).
  HINT:
  
  Refer to the procedures from the installation of the instrument panel sub-assembly up until the installation of the No 1. instrument panel register assembly.
CHECK AND ADJUST BRAKE PEDAL HEIGHT (See ADJUSTMENT )
CHECK BRAKE PEDAL FREE PLAY (See ADJUSTMENT )
CHECK BRAKE PEDAL RESERVE DISTANCE (See ADJUSTMENT )
CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
PERFORM INITIALIZATION
1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
  NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
