Inspection Procedure

HINT: Start the inspection from step 1 when using the hand-held tester and start from step 2 when not using the hand-held tester.

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY HAND-HELD TESTER (ABS MOTOR RELAY OPERATION) 
   1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
   2. Start the engine.
   3. Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on the hand-held tester.
   4. Check the operation sound of the ABS motor individually when operating it with the hand-held tester.
   ACTIVE TEST

   OK: The operation sound of the ABS motor should be heard. 

   1. NG: Go to step 2 
   2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 

      REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  ) 

2. INSPECT HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (GND2 OF SKID CONTROL ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
   1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
   2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      SKID CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR TERMINALS RESISTANCE
      
      

      Tester Connection	Specified Condition
      S1-1 (GND2)- Body ground	Below 1 Ω

   1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (GND CIRCUIT) 
   2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
3. RECONFIRM DTC 

   HINT: This code is detected when a problem is determined in the ABS & TRACTION actuator assy.

   The ABS motor relay is in the ABS & TRACTION actuator assy.

   Therefore, motor relay circuit inspection and relay unit inspection cannot be performed. Be sure to check if the DTC code is output before replacing the ABS & TRACTION actuator assy.

   1. Clear the DTCs (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
   2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

   Are the same DTCs recorded? 

   1. NO: END 

      HINT: This DTC may be memorized due to a malfunction in the connector terminal.

   2. YES: GO TO NEXT STEP. 

      REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  )
