Problem Symptoms Table

If there are no DTCs output but the problem still occurs, check the circuits for each problem symptom in the order given in PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  and proceed to the relevant troubleshooting link.

NOTE: When replacing the skid control ECU, sensor, etc., turn the ignition switch off.
PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

ABS does not operate
BA does not operate
EBD does not operate
1. Check the DTC again and make sure that the normal code is output
2. IG power source circuit and ground circuit
3. Speed sensor circuit
4. Check the brake actuator with a hand-held tester. If abnormal, check the hydraulic circuit for leakage
5. If the symptoms still occur even after the above circuits in suspected areas are inspected and proved to be normal, replace the skid control ECU
  1. DTC CHECK/CLEAR 
  2. DTC C1241/41 LOW BATTERY POSITIVE VOLTAGE 
  3. DTC C0200/31 RIGHT FRONT SPEED SENSOR: DTC C0205/32 LEFT FRONT SPEED SENSOR: DTC C1235/35 FOREIGN MATTER IS ATTACHED ON TIP OF RIGHT FRONT SENSOR: DTC C1236/36 FOREIGN MATTER IS ATTACHED ON TIP OF LEFT FRONT SENSOR 
  4. DTC C0210/33 RIGHT REAR SPEED SENSOR: DTC C0215/34 LEFT REAR SPEED SENSOR: DTC C1238/38 FOREIGN MATTER IS ATTACHED ON TIP OF RIGHT REAR SENSOR: DTC C1239/39 FOREIGN MATTER IS ATTACHED ON TIP OF LEFT REAR SENSOR 
  5. BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (W/ VSC)
ABS does not operate efficiently
BA does not operate efficiently
EBD does not operate efficiently
1. Check the DTC again and make sure that the normal code is output
2. Speed sensor circuit
3. Stop lamp switch circuit
4. Check the brake actuator with a hand-held tester. If abnormal, check the hydraulic circuit for leakage
5. If the symptoms still occur even after the above circuits in suspected areas are inspected and proved to be normal, replace the skid control ECU

  2. DTC C0200/31 RIGHT FRONT SPEED SENSOR: DTC C0205/32 LEFT FRONT SPEED SENSOR: DTC C1235/35 FOREIGN MATTER IS ATTACHED ON TIP OF RIGHT FRONT SENSOR: DTC C1236/36 FOREIGN MATTER IS ATTACHED ON TIP OF LEFT FRONT SENSOR 
  3. DTC C0210/33 RIGHT REAR SPEED SENSOR: DTC C0215/34 LEFT REAR SPEED SENSOR: DTC C1238/38 FOREIGN MATTER IS ATTACHED ON TIP OF RIGHT REAR SENSOR: DTC C1239/39 FOREIGN MATTER IS ATTACHED ON TIP OF LEFT REAR SENSOR 
  4. DTC C1249/49 OPEN CIRCUIT IN STOP LIGHT SWITCH CIRCUIT 
  5. BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (W/ VSC)
ABS warning light (Remains ON) 1. ABS warning light circuit

DTC check of ABS cannot be done 1. Check the DTC again and make sure that the normal code is output
2. TC terminal circuit
3. If the symptoms still occur even after the above circuits in suspected areas are inspected and proved to be normal, replace the skid control ECU
  1. DTC CHECK/CLEAR 
  2. TC TERMINAL CIRCUIT 
  3. TC TERMINAL CIRCUIT 
Sensor signal check cannot be done 1. TS terminal circuit
2. Skid control ECU
  1. TS TERMINAL CIRCUIT

VSC and/or TRAC does not operate 1. Check the DTC again and make sure that the normal code is output
2. IG power source circuit and ground circuit
3. Check the hydraulic circuit for leakage
4. Speed sensor circuit
5. Deceleration sensor circuit
6. Yaw rate sensor circuit
7. Steering sensor circuit
8. If the symptoms still occur even after the above circuits in suspected areas are inspected and proved to be normal, replace the skid control ECU

2. TRAC control switch circuit
3. If the symptoms still occur even after the above circuits in suspected areas are inspected and proved to be normal, replace the skid control ECU
  1. DTC CHECK/CLEAR 
  2. TRAC OFF INDICATOR LIGHT, TRAC OFF SWITCH CIRCUIT 
  3. -
DTC check of VSC cannot be done 1. Check the DTC again and make sure that the normal code is output
2. TC terminal circuit
3. If the symptoms still occur even after the above circuits in suspected areas are inspected and proved to be normal, replace the skid control ECU
  1. DTC CHECK/CLEAR 
  2. TC TERMINAL CIRCUIT 
  3. -
VSC warning light (Remains ON) 1. Check the DTC again and make sure that the normal code is output
2. VSC warning circuit
3. If the symptoms still occur even after the above circuits in suspected areas are inspected and proved to be normal, replace the skid control ECU
DTC CHECK/CLEAR 
VSC WARNING LIGHT CIRCUIT (REMAINS ON)

VSC warning light (Does not light up) 1. Check the DTC again and make sure that the normal code is output
2. VSC warning circuit
3. If the symptoms still occur even after the above circuits in suspected areas are inspected and proved to be normal, replace the skid control ECU
DTC CHECK/CLEAR 
VSC WARNING LIGHT CIRCUIT (DOES NOT LIGHT UP)
