Inspection Procedure

HINT:

  1. INSPECT AIR BAG ECU ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the A23 connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard: 

    AIR BAG ECU ASSY - VOLTAGE TABLE

    Terminal No Condition Specified condition
    A23-13 - Body ground Ignition switch is ON 10 to 14 V

    NG: Go to step 3 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (BETWEEN CLOCK ASSY AND AIRBAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER) 

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE CLOCK ASSY (See step 4 on  REPLACEMENT  ) 

  3. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY (PASSENGER SIDE) 
    1. Disconnect the B10 connector from the front seat inner belt assy (Passenger Side).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard: 

    FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY (PASSENGER SIDE) - RESISTANCE TABLE

    Terminal No Condition Specified condition
    B10-1 - B10-2 Seat belt is fastened Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY (PASSENGER SIDE) 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (BETWEEN FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY (PASSENGER SIDE) AND OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU) 

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (BETWEEN OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU AND AIRBAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER) 

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  6. INSPECT OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU - RESISTANCE TABLE

      Terminal No Condition Specified condition
      O4-5(1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      O10-5(2) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      (1) TMC Made
      (2) TMMK Made
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

    OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU - VOLTAGE TABLE

    Terminal No Condition Specified condition
    O4-8 - Body ground Seat belt is fastened 8 to 11V
    O10-8 - Body ground Seat belt is unfastened 3 to 4.5V

    NG: REPLACE OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU 

    OK: GO TO AIRBAG SYSTEM (See  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  )
