Rear Brake Pad, Brake Caliper & Brake Rotor: Installation

  1. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER MOUNTING LH 
    1. Install the cylinder mounting LH with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 62 N*m (630 kgf*cm, 46 ft.*lbf)

  2. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE BUSH DUST BOOT 
    1. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the sealing surface of 2 new bush dust boots.
    2. Install the 2 bush dust boots to the cylinder mounting LH.

  3. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE PAD SUPPORT PLATE 
    1. Install the pad support plate (No.1) to the cylinder mounting LH.
  4. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE PAD SUPPORT PLATE 
    1. Install the pad support plate (No.2) to the cylinder mounting LH.
  5. INSTALL ANTI SQUEAL SHIM KIT REAR 
    1. Apply disc brake grease to anti-squeal shim No.1 and No.4 and install them to each pad.
      NOTE:
      • When replacing worn pads, replace the antisqueal shims together with the pads.
      • Install the anti-squeal shims in the correct positions and directions.
    2. Install anti-squeal shim No.2 and No.3 to each pad.
      NOTE: Install the anti-squeal shims in the correct positions and directions.
    3. Install the pad wear indicator plate to the inner pad.
      NOTE: Install the pad wear indicator plate in the correct position and direction.

  6. INSTALL DISC BRAKE PAD KIT REAR (PAD ONLY) 
    1. Install the 2 brake pads with the anti-squeal shims.
      NOTE:
      • There should be no oil or grease on the friction surface of the pads and the disc.
      • Install the inner pad with indicator plate facing downward.
  7. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER SLIDE BUSH 
    1. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to a new cylinder slide bush.
    2. Install the cylinder slide bush to the cylinder slide pin (lower).

  8. INSTALL DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY REAR LH 
    1. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the sliding part and the seal surfaces of the cylinder slide pins.
    2. Install the disc brake cylinder assembly rear with the 2 cylinder slide pins.

      Torque: 43 N*m (440 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf)

  9. CONNECT FLEXIBLE HOSE 
    1. Connect the flexible hose with the union bolt and 2 new gaskets.

      Torque: 29 N*m (300 kgf*cm, 22 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE: Install the flexible hose lock securely in the lock hole in the disc brake cylinder assembly rear.
  10. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID (See step 1 under  BRAKE FLUID  ) 
  11. BLEED BRAKE LINE (See step 3 under  BRAKE FLUID  ) 
  12. CHECK FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR (See step 5 under  BRAKE FLUID  ) 
  13. CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE 
  14. INSTALL REAR WHEEL 

    Torque: 103 N*m (1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf)
