Inspection Procedure
HINT:
Start the inspection from step 1 when using the hand-held tester and start from 2 when not using the hand-held tester.
- Check operation of VSC warning buzzer.
PREPARATION:
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch ON and push the hand-held tester main switch ON.
- Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on the hand-held tester.
CHECK:
Check "ON-OFF" function of the VSC warning buzzer using the hand-held tester.
OK:
The VSC warning buzzer operates according to the tester instruction.
- OK: Replace brake actuator assembly. NOTE: When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform the zero point calibration (see PRE-CHECK ).
- NG: Go To Next Step
- Measure voltage between terminal 2 of VSC warning buzzer and body ground.
PREPARATION:
Remove the VSC warning buzzer with the connectors being connected.
CHECK:
- Turn the ignition switch ON.
- Measure the voltage between terminal 2 of the VSC warning buzzer and the body ground.
OK:
Voltage: 10 to 14 V
- NG: Repair or replace harness and connector from voltage supply to VSC warning buzzer.
- OK: Go To Next Step
- Check VSC warning buzzer.
PREPARATION:
Disconnect the VSC warning buzzer connector.
CHECK:
Apply battery positive voltage to terminals 1 and 2 of the VSC buzzer connector and check that the VSC warning buzzer sounds.
- NG: Replace VSC warning buzzer.
- OK: Go To Next Step
- Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between skid control ECU and VSC warning buzzer (See
HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE
).
- NG: Repair or replace harness and connector.
- OK: Replace brake actuator assembly.
NOTE: When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform the zero point calibration (see PRE-CHECK ).
